2012 Parade Marshals

 

Officials from the Toronto Global Marijuana March (GMM) have announced this years parade marshals. Leading the 20,000+ marchers this year will be Jodie Emery, The Herb, Bongman and NORML Woman’s Alliance of Canada. For those that aren’t familiar with this years parade marshals we have posted some information about each below.

NORML Woman’s Alliance of Canada

Founded in 1970, NORML has provided a voice in the public policy debate for those Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition. They are a nonprofit public-interest advocacy group who represents the interests of the tens of millions of Americans who smoke marijuana responsibly.

Founded under the same mandate of NORML Women Alliance (US) – NORML Women’s Alliance of Canada has a contemporary approach to the public policy debate of marijuana prohibition. They have also earned the reputation of proudly representing the interests of modern, mainstream women who believe that the consumption of marijuana has far less negative consequences than marijuana prohibition. The NORML Women’s Alliance have a core group of diverse national spokeswomen who interact with the public and the media to help educate society about the important issue of marijuana legalization.

JodieEmeryBCGreens Jodie Emery – Cannabis Culture Magazine

Jodie’s passions in life include human rights, news, politics, civil liberties, the environment, and ending drug prohibition. In early 2005, Jodie started working as assistant editor of Marc Emery’s Vancouver-produced Cannabis Culture Magazine, then became the full-time editor by early 2006. Jodie and Marc fell in love and were married on July 23, 2006.

Jodie is currently the owner and director of Cannabis Culture Magazine, Marc Emery’s Cannabis Culture Headquarters store, Pot TV, and the BC Marijuana Party Headquarters.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane – it’s Bong Man! Bong Man has been a regular at the GMM for a few years now. Over the years he has become very popular with visitor attending the pro marijuana event. He is also considered by many to be the official mascot of the Toronto Freedom Festival where thousands gather for a picture with him.

the-herb Hubert J Kushman aka “The Herb”

The Herb is sweet green leaf and is the official mascot of the GMM’s presenting sponsor www.cannabis.ca.

His mission is to spread the positive message of Cannabis to the masses one hug and photo at a time. The Herb can be found around town at various large sporting and entertainment events and leads all promotional and public relations efforts for the Global Marijuana March in Toronto. The Herb’s says “Love the Herb, it will never let you down!”
